Action Plan Summary Statement
Resources and Supports Needed
Plan for Implementation
Standard 1:
I would like to grow within my instructional planning by including
more collaboration, more technology and digital tools, and pay closer attention to using higher ordering questioning and thinking in my lessons.
- Support from my administrators and colleagues
- State and NET Standards
- Blooms Taxonomy to reference for higher order thinking
- Lessons that I can use to add digital tools and technology to
- Add 2-3 higher order thinking questions or skills to a unit per month
- Add 1 digital tool to one subject area in 1 month
- Meet with colleagues once a cycle to plan together
Standard 2:
Using a site such as SurveyMonkey is a great way to achieve this goal.
My students will be excited to take their assessment online and will also be excited to see the results online.
This will also be helpful to me as it will be a much better use of time and will gather all of the answers
in one central location. This will allow me to create better lessons and assessments.
- Support from my administrators
- State and NET Standards
- Technology resources such as Equizzer or Survey Monkey
-
- Create 1 online assessment through Survey Monkey per month
-Share results with students
Standard 3:
By using it in small ways in my classroom and exposing my students to technology, they are beginning to see and understand the importance and value of it. Technology is a great communication tool and is accessible from pretty much anywhere. This makes it great for parents because no matter where they may be they can see what their child did that day or what they might be doing tomorrow. This being said means that I need to make the conscious effort to stay on top of updating my sites for the parents. I would also like to introduce other colleagues to Diigo and Delicious so that I can share all the great articles and information I am reading with them.
- Support from my administrators and colleagues
- State and NET Standards
-Diigo and Delicious accounts to help me find articles
and tools to be shared with colleagues
- Update classroom website weekly
- Upload classroom newsletter every Friday
- Update classroom blog 2 -3 times per week
- Introduce one colleague to Diigo and/or Delicious by end of month
- Share 3 items I find interesting with colleagues
Standard 4:
It's important for us to model safe and legal computer use so that our students have an example to follow. By setting up a policy that holds the students accountable, we as a school our showing that this is a serious issue and concern and is something that they need to follow for their own safety and protection. I also think that it is important that they are learning how to use the internet and being hands on. By allowing teaching my students how to use sites like Trackstar and sharing videos with them such as Faux Paws, they will be better prepared to use the internet.
- Support from my administrators
- State and NET Standards
-Faux Paws Video
-Fairly Use Tale Clip
-Copyright Bay Website
-Trackstar Account
- Share with students Faux Paws video at beginning of school year
-Introduce students to Trackstar by end of October
- Discuss importance of safe internet use - revisit throughout school year
Standard 5:
One way to improve my professional practice is to not only collaborate with my grade level peer but also with others peers in my school. Many of them tend to turn away from new technology or technology in general and I think by sharing some of the great resources I have come across, they might become more interested. I can also continue to attend informational meetings or seminars on technology.
- Support from my administrators and colleagues
- State and NET Standards
- Share tools and articles of interest at at least 1 faculty meeting during school year
- Sign up and attend one seminar or informational meeting pertaining to technology
